About Me

Hello, I'm Andrew.

View from the Garth Mountain
I live in Pentyrch, a little village north of Cardiff city centre that is famous for Lucy Jones from XFactor and a large mountain that featured in the Hugh Grant film "The Englishman who went up a Hill but came down a Mountain"

I'm a chartered surveyor 4 days a week, the remaining 3 days I breed and show poultry, specialising in Silver  Lace Wyandottes, keep chickens, quails, entertain 3 boys and write articles for magazines and newspapers, my blog follows my day to day experiences especially poultry.

I have 27 chickens and 16 quail at present I have set up Andrews Pure Breed Poultry (see link to website at top of the page) to provide advice on chickens and supply hens, quail, hatching eggs and a hen sitting service for when poultry keepers are away from home.

I keep Rare breed poultry such as Cream legbars, Coad Langsham.  I am looking to keep Welsh Harlequin ducks and ixworth chickens.  One day I hope to keep other animals such as rare breed pigs, turkeys and ducks.

I hope you enjoy my blog.
